The absolutely most important thing that we do at Joy Baptist Church is to preach and to teach the Word of God. We preach “…Christ in you, the hope of Glory…warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom…striving according to his working…” (Colossians 1:27-29). This is accomplished through the pulpit ministry, the Sunday School ministry, the Web Ministry, and through personal discipleship. We trust that the following messages will point you to Jesus, will encourage you to keep pressing on, and challenge you to live passionately for Jesus Christ.

The Message We Need
Too many churches today and too many Christians today want the emphasis of the church to be on everything but the message. But, the church was established by God to be the pillar and ground of truth. We have been given a message that needs to be claimed and we have the responsibility to preach that message sweetly (out of love and compassion), soundly, and strongly.

    Unexpected Mercy
    Series: Unexpected
How we respond to God's unexpected move in our life is key to us experiencing God's greatest blessings. However, we often allow our emotions, our pride, our fear, our frustration, and our anger to control, to rule over, to limit, and to get the best of us. During these times, the grace of God will lead us to a dead end - a place where there is no way out. But, if we will trust in the Lord, where there is no way out, God's mercy will make a way.

    I Am Unworthy

    I-Am-Unworthy

When God makes an unexpected move in our life, how we respond is the key to us experiencing or not experiencing God's wonderful blessings in our life. Many times, we choose to provide excuses for us not to do what God wants for us to do. As we study the life of Moses, we find that the first excuse he gave was that he was unworthy. We too use this excuse and we need to leave it on the backside of the desert where it belongs.

    Unexpected-Move

God’s work, God’s will, God’s plan does not begin with us, nor does it end with us, but God gives us the opportunity to be a part of it. He wants you to be a part of something that is greater than yourself, but many times we find ourselves pulling away from, or running from, the opportunity because God chose to make an unexpected move in our life.

No Excuses: Leave Them In The Desert Where They Belong
    No-Excuses---Leave-Them-in-The-Desert
God wants to accomplish something amazing through your life. But, we often allow excuses to limit what God can do through our lives. Moses gave God excuses for why he couldn't and then chose to leave them on the backside of the desert where they belong and you should too.

    Renew

    Back-On-Track-Renew

Things in both the world and the church are different today then they were yesterday. For the most part, sin was defined and, in large part, confined to the dark corners of the night. People were embarrassed and ashamed to be caught participating in the works of sin, but today, my how that’s changed. The truth is that our nation has been overtaken by and our churches have been infiltrated by the damaging effects of sin.

As you look at culture today, it is obvious that the undermining of our spiritual principles and the destruction of our society is the ultimate goal of our Adversary. While, as Americans, we still boast of being a Christian nation; the practice of Christianity in America is definitely in a state of decline. The church, however, isn't dying; it is failing. And, until we, the people of God, experience a change of heart, we will not see our culture or our society impacted by the things of God.

The church of today needs to experience RENEWAL.

    Prevail Because Of The Gospel
    prevail-because-of-the-gospel---Facebook
Every one enjoys listening to a good story – a story where the underdog, the weakling, the least experienced and least favored pursues something that is far greater than themselves. We long to demonstrate that same kind of tenacity, to be fueled by that same kind of passion, and to have that same kind of attitude in our own struggles and in our own circumstances, but, while we love to hear the story of the underdog, many today aren’t willing to put forth the effort to be the main character in the greatest underdog story of them all – the story of the church. Jesus said, in Matthew 16:18, “…
I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it
.” It's time that we the people of God avail ourselves to the power of God and experience great victory in our lives and in our ministries.

It’s Time To Get Back On Track
    Facebook-Introduction
Today, we stand not only at a critical moment in American history, but we find ourselves living in what I believe to be a major shift in the history of the world. It's time that the church today had a major comeback. It’s time for the church to rally together to accomplish the work of the church of God, in the power of God, and all to the glory of God.
It's time for the church to get back on the right track.

    God Wants Your Ambitions

    god-wants-your-ambitions

As God’s children, we need to dream big for the Lord, but a dream is no good if there isn’t any action put in place as a result of the dream. In other words, we need to be ambitious about our aspirations.

While we know that we are important to God and that God has created us for a great purpose and that He has great plans for us, we don’t often find ourselves dreaming about and pursuing after great things for God. In other words, as a Christian, we need to start dreaming a dream so big that only God can accomplish it in it our life.

We have been entrusted with truth, with the gospel, and it is our responsibility as the children of God to stand in defense of the Word of God. We must PROTECT the Gospel.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…” – Romans 1:16″

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…” – James 1:22
