The Profession Of Renewal

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. ” – Hebrews 10:22-25

Spiritual renewal is not just an opportunity to get right with God, but it is also an opportunity to do right before God. It’s been put this way, “With great privileges come great responsibilities.” God has granted His children access to His grace and He encourages us to come boldly before Him and ask for His grace. Our pursuit always ends with His provision. While His grace must be pursued privately, it is meant to be professed publicly. Our relationship with God is more than a relationship of fellowship; it’s a relationship of faithfulness. Spiritual maturity always comes with an appropriate level of responsibility. What we believe will always impact how we behave and how we behave will have a direct influence on those around us. Our faithfulness professes value, our excitement professes excitement (excitement is catchy), and our confidence and stability professes benefit. These three – value, excitement, and benefit – are the very elements that persuade people to change. Whatever trial, fear, doubt, or trouble that you find yourself facing, in His sovereignty God can use your fruitfulness to produce fruit in your life and in the lives of others that will bring Him unique glory and wonderful praise.
